Heritage Chorale was founded in 1984 by a group of experienced choral singers residing in Oak Park, Illinois, who wanted an opportunity to sing in a community-based chamber choir. Through the years we have been ably led by Robert Fuller, Anne Reisner Armetta, Philip Spencer, Harriet Ilse Ziegenhals, Jonathan Miller, Kurt Amolsch, and our current artistic director, Maurice Boyer.
The purpose of the Chorale is threefold: (1) to perform choral masterworks in many different styles and from many periods of music history; (2) to provide a setting in the Oak Park-River Forest area where local artists and composers can be heard; (3) to sing a repertoire that includes the rich musical diversity of cultures, composers, and instruments from around the world in juxtaposition with the cultural and musical wealth we enjoy in our own land.
Heritage Chorale welcomes new singers. If you wish to audition, please call us at 708/848-9066.
Heritage Chorale is supported in part by grants from the Oak Park Area Arts Council, in partnership with the Village of Oak Park, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
Welcome to the Heritage Chorale!
