Heritage Chorale's Marcie Hartman Mentoring Scholarship Program
Announcing the availability of the Heritage Chorale's Marcie Hartman Mentoring Scholarship Program for 2027. This scholarship is open to one high school sophomore, junior, or senior who currently resides, attends high school, or sings in Oak Park, River Forest, or Forest Park. Second priority extends to students outside this three‑village area. Home‑schooled students beginning at age 15, who will be considered sophomores, are also eligible.
The student selected for this scholarship must sing with Heritage Chorale for the spring 2027 semester and will receive an award of $1,500 for further study in the vocal arts. To qualify, the student must be in good academic standing and be recommended by their high school or youth choral director, voice teacher, or another professional musician familiar with the applicant’s singing ability.
Eligible applicants will be assessed based on their audition, singing experience, application information, and the recommendation submitted.
Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2026. Auditions will be individually scheduled with finalists to take place in December 2026 with Heritage Chorale’s Artistic Director. Applicants must commit to singing with Heritage Chorale for its spring semester, beginning January 4, 2027, and concluding with the spring concert performances on April 17 and 18, 2027. Final selection will be made before the beginning of Heritage Chorale’s spring semester in January 2027.
The scholarship award funds will be given after the candidate’s successful completion of the spring semester with Heritage Chorale in April 2027.
The scholarship payment will be made to the student’s selected college, music school, voice teacher, or other institution(s) or individual(s) providing assurance satisfactory to Heritage Chorale that the award will be used for music study in the vocal arts.
